- Create a diaper cake. Roll up a bunch of diapers and wrap rubber bands around them. Then arrange them in layers to form a cake. Wrap ribbon around the layers and decorate with baby items. It's easy to make, and the mom-to-be will really appreciate having all those diapers and baby items she needs.
- Make a gift basket with a bunch of items the baby will need. Create a theme for the basket, such as bath time, toy time or travel time. Fill the basket with several small items that relate to your theme. Wrap the basket in clear cellophane and add a decorative ribbon to make it look nice.
- Take the time to knit a baby's blanket. Choose a color that matches the color scheme of the baby's nursery, and knit a blanket the child can cherish forever. Or knit some booties and a hat. These make an adorable gift that everyone will "ooh" and "ahh" over.
- Start a scrapbook for the mommy-to-be. Put together a package of stickers, papers and decorative items that the proud momma can use to make a scrapbook for the baby as he grows. This makes scrapbooking easy for the new mom and more likely that she'll actually get around to doing it in the first place.
- Put together a coupon book of goodies for the mom-to-be. Design and print coupons on the computer for things such as "a night of baby-sitting," "a massage," "a week of homemade meals" and so on. These are all small personal things that money cannot buy and will make the mom's life easier.
