Eight-year-olds are at an in between age. Eight-year-olds are no longer interested in baby toys. They also aren't old enough for gifts that you would give a tween. Make sure that the gift you decide to go with is age-appropriate.

    8-Year-Old Girls

  1. One of the top gifts enjoyed by 8-year-old girls is a Webkinz. Webkinz are stuffed animals that come with a code. A girl can use that code online to get a virtual animal that looks just like her stuffed animal. Girls can play games, build rooms, and purchase food and clothing for their online Webkinz. Webkinz cost around $15 each.

Another great gift for an 8-year-old girl is a Fairy Triad Dome Terrarium. This is a kit with four types of plants that are said to attract fairies. Girls will have fun putting the terrarium together and watching everything grow. They can then maintain the terrarium for long-term fun. The kit also comes with the history of fairies so that the girls can learn more about them. The kit costs about $25.
  2. 8-Year-Old Boys

  3. Any 8-year-old boy would love to receive a Disgusting Science kit. This kit is both educational and fun. Boys will get to make their own fake blood. They can also grow mold and investigate germs. This kit comes with tons of experiments as well as explanations on how the body works. The kit costs $20.

Next, you may want to consider a Deluxe Magic Set for your 8-year-old boy. This magic set is designed to teach beginners the art of magic. It contains more than 54 props and trick instructions. The props are easily stored inside of a table that your 8-year-old boy can use to perform all of his magic tricks. The Deluxe Magic Set will run you about $35.

  5. Brain Food is a very inexpensive gift that is enjoyed by both 8-year-old boys and girls. It costs $15 and comes in several different shades. There is even one color that glows in the dark. Brain Food is a batch of putty you can pull apart and mold into different objects. Children can spend hours working with it and never get bored.

The River Crossing is another great option for 8-year-old boys and girls. It is a game where players need to use planks to cross a jungle. This game has won more than 16 awards for a very good reason. It comes with cards that will start your game off different every time. There are cards for beginners and cards for those looking for more of a challenge. This game runs about $18.
