Office Baby Shower Flyer Invitation Ideas

Office baby showers can provide not only needed items to the mom-to-be, but a needed break from a busy work day for everyone. Although shorter in duration than a normal baby shower, the food, gifts and socialization are all the same, and so is the need to provide an invitation. Flyer invitations are simple to create on your desktop publishing or document software and should include all the basic information including time, date, location, party theme and gift ideas or registry information.

Photo of Mom to Be

  • Your baby shower invitation should get people’s attention and what better way to do that than to use a photo of a very pregnant mom-to-be. Take a picture of the guest of honor with your digital camera and insert it into your desktop publishing or writing program. Refer to your software Help section if you don’t know how to do this. Usually it will be an Insert command followed by an option to browse for the image.

Place that picture on the top left hand side of the flyer and include all the party information on the other side of the flyer. Be sure to list location and time so that people can schedule their day accordingly. Add your phone extension so invitees can RSVP.

Baby Image Clip Art

  • Most desktop publishing software including Microsoft Word, Publisher or Print Explosion has a clip art section. Search for comical baby clip art and use a few to make your flyer more colorful. Choose from crying baby cartoons, or more traditional baby items clip art such as pacifiers and baby bottles. If you can’t find anything useful in your office software you can find online sources for free clip art you can use.

Theme Oriented

  • An unexpected idea for a baby shower at the office is to connect the baby shower theme to the job the mom-to-be performs. For example, if the guest of honor is an accountant, ask that all the baby shower gifts feature numbers in some way. If she is a secretary, ask that all the baby shower gifts reflect letters.

  • For a more sedate office, a tasteful invitation using the colors of the baby's nursery is in order. Use store-bought baby-styled stationery to simply print your information on, or add a graphic such as a baby blanket border in the decor colors to let everyone know immediately that it’s a baby shower to which they are invited.
