Quinceanera

A quinceanera, derived from the words quince (fifteen) ano (year), is a Hispanic girl who is celebrating her 15th birthday. Oftentimes, parents mark this coming-of-age event by hosting lavish parties, inviting their close friends and relatives. Taking pictures of the celebrant, her court, family members and guests is a way to capture the memories to cherish in years to come.

Ask the photographer to take solo and group pictures outdoors. Professional photographers may suggest nearby scenic locations. Choose a location with a garden filled with colorful flowers such as a botanical garden. If there is a Japanese botanical garden nearby, have your pictures taken on the arched bridge or in front of a pagoda. Another site is at the beach, using the ocean as the backdrop. Find places with architectural details, such as a public mansion, the city hall or old churches. Check with people managing these locations ahead of time, let them know of your plans or ask permission to take your pictures at the site.

Choose a backdrop provided by a professional photographer, especially if taking pictures outdoors is not an option such as during inclement weather. There are backdrops with solid colors or outdoor scenery. You can even choose backdrops of scenic spots such as the Eiffel Tower in France, the Swiss Alps, San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge or the New York's Empire State Building.

There are fun designs such as a backdrop similar to those used by Hollywood stars when walking on the red carpet. You and your friends can pretend to be Hollywood stars posing for the cameras.
  4. Candid Shots

Some of the best photos are those taken candidly. A photographer can capture unstaged moments, especially reactions of everyone in the party. An excellent photograph would be a solemn look during a church confirmation while you take your spiritual vows. These shots can help tell the story of your quince ano celebration, which you can share with your family, friends and future generations.
