- Give a mix of your favorite love songs. A personal mix of love songs can be given at a wedding, Valentine's Day party or anniversary party. Decorate the CD and CD case with a picture of the happy couple or artwork featuring hearts.
- Are you throwing a baby shower? Give the guests of the baby shower a CD filled with lullabies or classic children's songs. Songs from Disney movies or classic lullabies like "Hush Little Baby" can fill CDs for your guests to enjoy with their children or grandchildren later. Decorate the CD and CD case with a picture of children's toys or a sonogram picture.
- A mixed CD with songs that are usually heard at sporting events, such as Queen's "We Will Rock You," makes a great party favor. Give these CDs out to guests at a sports banquet or sports-themed birthday party. Use pictures of sporting equipment to decorate the CD and CD case.
- Are you musically talented? Do you have a special message that you would like guests to hear? Record your own music or message and burn it to CD to give to guests as a party favor. You could make a CD telling the story of your relationship to give out as favors at your wedding. Record a CD of your own music to give as favors at your birthday party. Decorate the CD with artwork that says something about you or is reflective of the occasion.
- A CD is not limited to music. You can use a CD to store photos as well. Burn CDs with photos of fun times shared with family to give out as favors at a Christmas party. Burn a CD with pictures of your child to give out as favors at their birthday party. You can even burn a CD of your engagement photos to give to guests as a wedding favor.
- Do not download music for your musical CD favors from illegal peer-to-peer file sharing software. Purchase your music legally from iTunes, or a similar online store. You need to purchase the songs for each CD, not just once and then burn them to CD over and over again. So, if you want to put 12 songs on a CD and you have 50 guests, you will need to purchase each of those 12 songs 50 times. Further, once you have burned the CDs for your guests, you must delete the music that you purchased, it would be illegal to keep the music for your own use; you must purchase your own copy of the music if you wish to have it.
