- Make the ladies a personalized lip balm. To make a trial batch of about 3 tiny containers, melt 2 tsp. beeswax and 2-1/4 tsp. jojoba oil in a double boiler; stir, remove from heat and add about 6 drops of peppermint essential oil (see link in the resources section to the recipe for further instructions and hints). Pour the mixture in small containers and let cool. After testing, adjust the recipe to make the desired quantity for the baby shower favors. Wrap a ribbon around each container, then design a personalized label on the computer, print it and stick on to the container.
- For an easy-to-make baby favor with a lot of flavor, buy some small baby bottles. Fill the bottles with a treat such as candies, crackers, miniature cookie bites or mints. Design and print a personalized label on the computer. Stick the label on the bottle, and tie a ribbon around the neck of the bottle.
- Make some cookies and cut them out with baby-item-shaped cookie cutters such as pacifiers, rattles and booties. Frost the cookies and use decorating gel and icing to add details to make the items look more realistic or to personalize them with names or words. Wrap these cookies in clear cellophane and tie a nice ribbon around the top to close and secure the packaging for your easy-to-make baby favors.
- Buy some flower-seed packets. Then type a poem or short message about how these "baby blooms" can bring joy and delight to your life just like the arrival of the expected baby will to her parents. To complete the easy-to-make favor, punch a small hole in the notepaper and thread a ribbon through it, then staple or tape the ribbon to the seed packet.
- Get several small containers such as empty baby food jars. Buy candle wax (you can find this at any craft store) and melt it. Place a wick in each jar. Pour the wax around the wick, making sure it sticks up straight. Make a label on the computer and adhere it to the jar as the wax sets. Tie a ribbon around the jar and your easy-to-make baby favors are ready for the shower.
