An office cube is a semi-private place where an employee can conduct daily business functions. The office cube or cubicle typically has only three low walls that can appear stark and very generic at times. Transform the usual bland gray cube with decorations that can set it apart from the rest and make it more conducive to working.

    Add Photos

  1. Cubicle photo frames

Add your personality to your office cube by displaying photos of your family or friends. Avoid hanging photos that are offensive to others, such as pinup photos of men or women scantily dressed. Keep in mind that you are decorating an office space and not your bedroom. According to 360officefurniture.com, adding portraits and framed pictures are attractive choices for decorations for your cubicle. Place framed photos on top of your desk or hang them on your cubicle walls. Bring a bulletin board to help organize photos in one spot. Avoid going overboard and covering your entire cubicle walls with photos.

Change photos from time to time. For example, a school photo of your kid should change each year. Your son may already be a college student, but the photo on the cubicle is from when he was in preschool. Keep the photo selection fresh to keep others interested.
  2. Add Certifications and Awards

  3. Hang certifications and awards on your cubicle walls. Make a copy of your diploma, frame it and hang it on the wall. A copy of important certifications is necessary if you do not want to risk losing your original ones. Hanging certifications and awards can show your accomplishments to impress your co-workers and clients.
  4. Add Accessories

  5. Add color to your office cube by hanging a painting or colorful work of art. Monsterguide.net states that displaying your child's drawing is acceptable and can help inspire you as you work. It can also make a good conversation piece.

Add live plants to help improve your mood as well as the air quality of your cubicle. Use silk flowers if you or your co-workers have allergic reactions to plants. Put the plant in one corner of your desk.

Add framed quotes or inspirational posters to help you do better at work. Put a small sculpture or a ceramic vase on top of your cabinets to add visual interest to your cubicle.
  6. Keep Cube Tidy

  7. Keep your cube organized at all times. Do not let your paper work pile up on top of your desk. Put away all completed paperwork in a filing cabinet. Place your office essentials such as pens, staplers, hole-punchers, paperclips and fasteners within easy reach. Use colorful office organizers to add color to your workspace.
