Wedding Table Flower Decorations

Creating wedding table flower decorations can be a simple and inexpensive job. You can use minimal supplies, found at most craft stores. Although the floral garland would involve a large time commitment to create, the other ideas would require very little time. Each of the suggested centerpieces are low to the table, so everyone seated would be clearly visible.

    1. Floral Garland

      • You can buy or create floral garland with real or silk flowers. To make garland, you want to cut the stems off all the flowers you intend to use. You can have the flowers tightly together or spread out. Use a needle with a thicker thread, such as button thread, and sew the flowers together. Pull the needle through the base of the flower blossom so the blossom faces out, or pull the thread through the top of the flower blossom to make the flowers appear stacked. Stacking the flower blossoms is the technique you will use if you plan to have the flowers tightly together on the garland. Homemade floral garland will be breakable, so as you finish the garland, lay it in a plastic tube and use the same container to transport it to the reception. Don't take it out of the plastic tube until you are ready to hang the garland. To attach the garland to the table, simply use clear tape.

      Vase with Flowers

      • Buy small fishbowl-shaped vases with scalloped edges. They can be found at almost any craft store. Buy enough flowers to completely fill the vase. You can keep the vase clear so the stems are visible, or before you put the water in, add colored marbles or stones to the vases so the stems will be at least partially hidden.

Another possibility is to buy vases that are very shallow with a wide opening. Fill them with water and then float just the flower blossoms. If you want to incorporate candles, float a couple flower blossoms with a couple tea lights.

      Loose Flowers

      • Buy a variety of flowers, that go along with your color scheme and possibly match the flowers used in your bouquet. Cut the stems off the flowers so you are left with just the flower blossoms. Then arrange the flower blossoms right on the table. Arrange them by themselves---or incorporate other items, such as candles or leaves cut from the flower stems.
