- The bright colors of the leaves and the grapes will undoubtedly accent your wine bottles. Using double-sided tape, adhere the faux grape vines to the wine shelves, following along the curve of the shelf. Make sure to test the tape first to make sure it will not cause damage to the lacquer. You can buy faux grape vines on nationalvines.com.
- If you would rather not use an entire vine to decorate the wine shelves, you can use bunches of faux grapes. Using double-sided tape, attach one small bunch of grapes on the corners of the set of wine shelves. You can buy the faux grape bunches at save-on-crafts.com.
- On the front center of each shelf, attach a lead-free pewter grape leaf bunch. The embellishment is small enough so that it will not look awkward but will add an unusual touch to your shelves. Use Gorilla Glue to attach the grapes. (Be aware that the glue will never come off.) You can purchase the pewter grapes on save-on-crafts.com.
- Each time you drink a bottle of wine, save the cork until you have enough to cover the front of each shelf. Using wood glue, glue each cork horizontally onto the front of the shelf until you have fully covered only the front of each shelf. Leave the sides of the shelves uncovered so it does not look too overdone.
- For an interesting look to your wine shelves, decoupage on various wine labels. Attach each wine label on the shelf using Mod Podge, which can be applied by using a foam brush. You can either overlap the labels or put them neatly side by side. Decoupage the labels only on the shelves themselves and not on the outside of the cabinet. You can purchase wine labels on online auction sites or remove them from your own empty bottles.
