Most people use a variety of products when getting ready in the morning. The daily ritual may include toothpaste, shaving cream and lotion; hair styling products like gel, hairspray or straightening balms; or body lotions, sprays or spritzes. All of these products need to be stored in the bathroom. Because many bathrooms lack adequate storage space, adding shelving can help keep bathroom products close at hand, organized and easy to locate for use.

    Space Saver Unit

  1. Most common is a shelving unit that fits above the toilet bowl, has two or three shelves and may have doors to hide stored items. This type of unit saves space and provides a place to store extra toilet paper, tissues or hair accessories, photographs or scented candles.
  2. Floating

  3. To add a modern touch to the bathroom, use floating shelves. These decorative shelves come in a variety of widths, lengths and materials and are bolted into wall studs. Floating shelves are the perfect place for vases with unusual shapes, textured books and single candles, which all can contribute to a spa-like bathroom.
  4. Wall Mounted

  5. To add a modern touch to the bathroom, use floating shelves. These decorative shelves come in a variety of widths, lengths and materials and are bolted into walls. 6. Freestanding

  7. Freestanding shelves come with a variety of tiers and lengths, which makes it easy to squeeze them into compact areas and create much needed storage space. Whether on wheels or standing directly on the floor, these small shelves can hold extra towels, containers with cotton swabs or balls, or other items guests might need to use when visiting.
  8. Do-it-Yourself

  9. Do-it-yourself shelves may consist of wood placed on two ceramic plant stands, stacked plastic or wooden crates, or other modular, easy to move units. Place baskets on the shelves to keep washcloths, shower necessities and books and magazines organized and cover with a tapestry to hide stored items. Save money by using what is already available.
