- Many websites on the Internet make you sign take out an account with them to play an assortment of games. Most of these sites have sports-themed games, including football. One site, EA Sports' Pogo.com, offers a few football games you can play online. Pogo offers the "All-Star Football Challenge" game, which is similar to the John Madden series you'd play on a video game console, except that it is stripped down to basics for Internet play. The site also has "All-Star Football," which allows you to manage a team and choose plays while watching the action unfold. To test your skills, Pogo offers "Perfect Passer," which tracks your precision passing.
- The most obvious and famous of these is ESPN.com, which offers an arcade of games--including two football games: "QB Assault" and "Speed Back." "QB Assault" is based off the arcade game in which you throw footballs through holes to move a virtual team downfield and try to score in a set amount of time. In "Speed Back," you get three attempts to move your running back downfield and into the end zone without getting tackled. This is all ESPN.com has to offer, but SIKids.com offers four games for users. The site is tailored for kids, but the games can be fun. The site offers "Air Attack," "Clutch QB," "Crunchball 3000," "Football Frenzy" and "Dancing Referee." Other sports news websites also offer online football games.
- One resource for online games is NabiscoWorld.com. The Nabisco Co. has its own game website, made for kids and adults. The site is product-placement advertisement at its best. All of Nabisco's products are promoted in the games. But who cares? The site has numerous games and covers several sports. In football alone, NabiscoWorld offers the following games: "Two-Minute Drill," "Downfield Strike," "QB Shootout" and "Field Goal Challenge." Surfing company websites for advertising-based games is a good strategy.
- NFLRUSH.com is aimed at kids, but fun for adults, too. The site's main purpose is to teach kids about the game of football, but it also offers some addictive games. The games include: "Two-Minute Drill," "Backyard Football," "Virtual Punt, Pass and Kick," "Haunted Ghoul Post," "Fast Sack Attack," "Linemen Throng" and "Wedge Busters."
