Choosing a Theme

Before you start scrapbooking, get all your stuff together. You can stock up on stickers, embellishments and other decorations in whatever theme you choose. There are many options when it comes to your theme. You may want to stick to baby blue or pastel pink and add embellishments in similar colors.
Another idea is to design the page around your nursery theme. For example, if your baby's nursery is decorated with trains or Care Bears, you can use the same theme for your scrapbook pages.
If you are going to do an entire book for your baby, you can use different themes on different pages and bring them all together with photographs of your baby as she grows.

Page designs vary by person and by taste. One option is to take a single photo of your baby and design around it. You can frame the picture, layer it or trace it in ribbon or lace. Using just a single photo leaves room for other details about your baby on the page. A page for the day he was born could include his length, weight and time of birth. Or you may want to journal the events leading up to the birth.
Another option is to put several pictures on the page. Choose pictures that are related to each other, such as three pictures of the baby starting to smile.
