Every anniversary deserves to be celebrated, but there are certain milestone anniversaries that make you really reflect on what has been accomplished. One such anniversary is the 25th, or the "silver" anniversary. This means you've made it through a quarter of a century together. You've seen the world change together, and probably changed yourselves quite a bit. Commemorate your 25th wedding anniversary with a special celebration.

    Re-Create Your Wedding

  1. Twenty-fifth anniversaries are commonly celebrated by the renewal of the wedding vows. If you choose to renew your vows, one option is to re-create your wedding. Try to have your original best man and maid of honor stand up with you again. Or use your children. Wear the same dress if you can, or purchase a nice dress that you can use for other occasions. The "groom" can wear a suit or tux. Use the same flowers as your original wedding, or the 25th anniversary flower, the iris. Hire a DJ or band to play songs from your original reception. Dance to the same song you shared your first dance with as a married couple.
  2. Dinner

  3. Opt for a dinner party instead, if it's more your style. Serve a nice dinner, perhaps even the meal you served at your reception. Decorate with bouquets of 25 roses or irises in silver vases, since it is your silver anniversary. Another option is silver-dipped flowers. Use silver accented china and polished silverware if possible. Sprinkle silver glitter or confetti along the tables or on flowers. Light silver candles, or white candles in silver candelabras.
  4. Trips

  5. Take a second honeymoon. Revisit your favorite vacation spots, or relive your original honeymoon. If you never got to celebrate with a honeymoon, or couldn't go where you originally wanted to due to time or financial restraints, go now. Take a cruise, tour Europe or spend a week in Hawaii. Even if you only travel a few hours away to a bed-and-breakfast, take that time to reflect on your marriage and love for each other. Rekindle that newlywed feeling with some time dedicated to just the two of you being together.

Bring along a tape of your wedding or your wedding album. Look over it together while you sip from anniversary champagne flutes or wine glasses. Laugh and reminisce together.
