Your proposal can set the tone for your wedding, marriage and future. You want to get this right. When it comes to proposing, finding the perfect woman and the perfect the ring is most of the battle. To be sure she says yes, get creative, sentimental or completely random. The more memorable the better.

    Starcrossed Lovers

  1. Those youthful memories of plastering stars on your bedroom ceiling can be re-created as a unique marriage proposal. This idea will only work if you live with your loved one or have access to her bedroom. If so, pick up a package of glow- in-the-dark stars. While your fiancee-to-be is away, spell out "Marry Me?" in stars above the bed. When your significant other returns home, invite her to check out something in the awaiting room, or wait until you turn out the lights for bed. Either way, this starry surprise will be loved.
  2. Wake-Up Call

  3. For the fiancee-to-be who knows this question is coming up, you want to find a way to surprise her. Pick a morning to propose, and wake her up. Before she can even begin to wonder if today is the day, get down on one knee by the side of the bed, and pop the question. This will be the wake-up call she always dreamed of.
  4. A Fortunate Fortune

  5. Couples who love Chinese food may find quite the fortuitous fortune in the next fortune cookie. Get take-out Chinese food. Before your loved one gets in to eat, remove both fortune cookies from their wrappers. Place one fortune cookie in the microwave for 15 to 30 seconds. This will cause the cookie to loosen up, allowing you to switch the fortunes. Replace the fortune with either a small slip of paper that reads "Will You Marry Me?" or place the ring in it directly. After a tasty meal, your soon-to-be bride will be thankful she got dessert.
