- Hair-replacement surgery and hair transplants are a way to go for women looking to have hair again after suffering from alopecia. The techniques are done by a cosmetic surgeon. Minoxidil is often required for two weeks prior to the surgery. The patient will have to massage the medicated ointment onto the scalp to prevent further hair loss. Hair is grafted onto the scalp, starting at the hairline, using a 2.5-mm slot graft. While this is a valid solution to replacing hair, it is much more expensive than using one of the hair-growing products.

Many people have turned to products to help them regrow their hair. Some are very unorthodox but have worked for some people with alopecia. One of them is rubbing red pepper onto the scalp. This is said to open the pores on the scalp and promote hair growth.
There are other products that use sulfur and other ingredients to regrow the hair quickly: Ovation, Boundless Tresses, Grow-Aut, and Megatek are just some of the products that are commonly used today.
Use Ovation 3-step system. The system costs around $100 and comes with Ovation Color Therapy Shampoo, Cell Therapy Hair Growth Crème, and Crème Rinse. First clean the hair with the Color Therapy Shampoo. Towel dry and apply the Cell Therapy all over the head. Cover it with a plastic cap and let it stand for 30 minutes. Wash it out and towel dry the hair again. Apply a quarter-size amount of the Crème Rinse and rinse out after 5-to-10 minutes. The entire system works by unclogging the pores, strengthening the hair strands and increasing the growing phase in the hair- growing cycle.
Boundless Tresses, Grow-Aut and Megatek work the same way by massaging the product into the scalp and hair. Grow-Aut can be purchased with an entire system of shampoo, conditioner and moisturizing oils. Megatek has the same active ingredients as Ovation Cell Therapy, but costs less.
