How to Make a Bugs Bunny Costume. Bugs Bunny is an easily recognizable character for Halloween because it has been around since the 1930s and still is a popular cartoon today. Bugs Bunny is a great costume for either a child or adult to make on ones own. Go with a friend dressed like Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny's enemy, and have a good time saying "What's up, Doc?" all night long.

Visit a thrift shop to find a gray hooded sweat suit. Bugs Bunny is gray and white, so the sweat suit will form the main part of your Halloween costume.

Cut out a white felt oval to make Bugs Bunny's chest. Sew it to the front of the sweat shirt.

Create some Bugs Bunny ears from grey felt. Attach the ears to the sweat suit's hood.

Make a big ball of cotton wool and sew it to the back of the pants. This is the tail for your Bugs Bunny Halloween costume.

Put on the sweat suit and pull on some white socks to form the rabbit's feet.

Paint the top half of your face gray and the bottom half of your face white. Add a pink nose and some gray whiskers.

Slip your hands into the white gloves or mittens. Add a carrot to complete the effect.

Tip

A velour sweat suit is the best bet for a soft texture. Alternatively, turn a regular sweat suit inside out so that it looks fleecy. You can make floppy bunny ears out of gray stockings instead of felt. Use white sneakers instead of socks for the feet if you are planning to walk around outside.
