- Prepare candy centerpieces for birthday parties. These centerpieces are versatile to use at a child's birthday party or an adult celebration. Use small flowerpots, lined with foil. For birthday cupcakes, use the three-inch terra-cotta pots painted to look like cupcake wrappers. Use the saucer for the cupcake top and place small candies in the pots as treats for party guests.
