Skin Care for Antiaging & Wrinkles

Skin care for antiaging and wrinkles is as close as your kitchen. Many everyday household items have versatile uses that people simply aren't aware. Although there are many products available for the prevention of skin aging, they can be expensive and some have adverse effects on the skin due to their concentrated strength. Try these inexpensive beauty ingredients for natural skin preservation. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Lemons

    • The citric acid and vitamin C in lemons are a weapon against aging skin. Citric acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that removes dull dead skin that can accumulate on the face, causing age spots and wrinkles. The vitamin C in lemons helps boost circulation thereby speeding new cell growth for a more youthful appearance. Vitamin C produces the connective tissue collagen that keeps skin elastic and wrinkle free.

Lemon can be used a number of ways: as a mask treatment, as a freshener worn under moisturizers and makeup, or as a bedtime application. Simply cut a slice of lemon and smooth it over your clean face. If you prefer a 30-minute facial mask, squeeze the juice into a cotton ball or on the fingers and smooth it over the skin, keeping the pulp on the face.

    Olive Oil

    • It's a well-kept secret among natural beauty experts that olive oil, a staple in most households, is one of the most effective antiaging ingredients available. The Greeks have been using olive oil for centuries to preserve beautiful and youthful skin. It contains oleic acid, which can make skin more permeable and supple. Olive oil applied to the face and body can plump and smooth skin, and improve on wrinkles and sagging.

To use, smooth a small amount of extra virgin olive oil on a clean face. Use a thicker layer with a drop or two of pure vitamin E oil for an intense night treatment. To use olive oil on the body, put oil in a spray body and spritz the body after you shower. Skin will glow and have a flawless appearance.

The American Chronicle wrote an article October, 2007 that discusses how olive oil keeps skin elastic and hydrated. Over time, wrinkling and sagging will be reduced due to the increased permeability.

    Witch Hazel

    • Witch hazel is an inexpensive way to keep skin youthful. It contains antioxidants that prevent the breakdown of tissue. A natural astringent, it also minimizes pores and treats and prevents spider veins. Witch hazel can be applied to cleanse or freshen the face. It also helps treat age spots and other skin discoloration.

Apply witch hazel to the face with a cotton ball concentrating on age spots, large pores and areas with broken capillaries. Also, to freshen the body and treat varicose veins, put a spray top on a bottle of witch hazel and spray as desired.
