Sketch a simple rubber ducky, or find someone with more artistic talent than you possess to help you out. Make it roughly the size of a typical greeting card. Scan your drawing into the computer and print copies onto yellow card stock. Cut out your rubber ducky shapes.
Open your computer's word processing program and type out the details of the baby shower. Be sure the information prints out small enough to fit on the ducks that you have printed. Print the information on white card stock and glue it to the back of the ducks you made. Take a sample card to an office supply store to find envelopes that fit your duck cards. -
Carnivals and amusement parks often have a rubber ducky game. Each duck has a number underneath it and the player chooses a duck. The number corresponds to a prize that the player wins.
Use this idea at your rubber ducky baby shower. Guests can take turns choosing ducks. The numbers on the duck can correspond to door prizes. Alternatively, this can be used to break up the present-opening aspect of the shower. The mother-to-be can choose a duck, and whichever number is on the duck, that is how many presents she will open before taking a break to mingle, play a game, eat and so on. Or, assign each gift a number and then whichever number duck the mother-to-be chooses is the gift she opens next. -
Find nice glass bowls that have a wide opening on top. Fill them with water and add blue food color for extra effect. You can put clear or white glass beads in the bottom of the water as well if you choose. Float a rubber ducky or two in each bowl, depending on the size of the bowl.
Another option is to find large and small rubber ducks. In the middle of each table, place a mirror that is designed to be used for centerpieces. They can be found in wedding supply aisles of craft stores. Arrange one large duck and several "ducklings" following the Momma duck.
