Wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process. However, that doesn't stop many people from trying to prevent, slow or eliminate them. Professional methods are expensive, such as peels and laser surgery, and can be invasive, such as plastic surgery. Department store creams are also pricey and may or may not help. Genetics determine a great deal of the aging process but there are ways to slow down wrinkle development and reduce their appearance.

    Lifestyle

  1. Lifestyles can be a big contributor to wrinkle development. Aging, of course, contributes to wrinkles because as we get older, skin becomes thinner, drier and loses elasticity. Sun exposure is the biggest cause of wrinkles. Wear sunscreen every day and wear a hat to protect the face. Smoking, drinking too much alcohol, stress and not getting enough sleep also can contribute to wrinkle development. Try to sleep on your back to prevent creases. Take off makeup before bed. Wear sunglasses. Also exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin. Exercise to help circulation.
  2. What to Try

  3. If you suffer from undereye wrinkles, Preparation H, an over-the-counter hemorrhoid cream is a popular choice to reduce wrinkles. Eating blueberries, which are rich in anti-oxidants, also will help fight aging. Some suggest facial exercises to help tone and tighten skin on the face and neck. Drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet rich in vitamins.
  4. Home Products

  5. Make your own anti-wrinkle remedy at home. Mix turmeric and sugar cane juice into a paste and apply to the face and neck. Let the paste dry, then remove with a wash cloth. Several oils can be used, including olive oil, castor oil and coconut oil. Apply to the affected areas, being careful near the eyes.
Avocado, rich in healthy fats, can help smooth and plump the skin. Avocado can help skin when eaten or used as a mask. Simply mash the fruit and apply it to the face and neck. Let it sit for 20 minutes and wash off. Use egg whites to tighten skin. Apply it to the face and neck, let it dry and remove.
