Every wedding anniversary is special, as it marks another successful year of togetherness. But certain milestone anniversaries, such as the 10th, deserve to be joyously celebrated. Through all of the ups and downs that life has thrown at them, a couple has made it through a decade together. Choose a special way to celebrate your 10th anniversary, or to commemorate the 10th anniversary of a loved one.

    Tin, Pewter or Aluminum

  1. Traditionally, the 10th anniversary is represented by tin. Today, aluminum or pewter, which is mostly tin, can be substituted. For gifts, consider pewter frames, clocks, keepsakes or jewelry. Party favors can include tin containers filled with candies or mints.

Celebrating the 10th wedding anniversary with a party can be exciting for all of your friends and family. Decorate with candles in tin containers, or arrange them on aluminum framed mirrors. Ten aluminum roses make wonderful gifts and centerpieces. Consider floral arrangements that match original wedding colors and flowers. Display a favorite wedding photo, as well as a current anniversary photo, in pewter frames.
  2. Diamonds

  3. Diamonds are the modern 10th-anniversary gift. If your budget permits, give your spouse a piece of stunning diamond jewelry, such as an anniversary ring, necklace, watch or diamond cuff links.

Using the diamond theme, decorate for a 10th-wedding anniversary with ten crystal roses. Arrange them in a diamond-cut crystal vase or on a mirror sprinkled with rhinestones, which shine like diamonds. Flickering candle light, using crystal candle holders, will illuminate the stones, making them sparkle.
  4. Trips

  5. For an intimate celebration, consider taking a trip or vacation together. Many cruise lines offer 10-day cruises. Reminisce on your first year of marriage on day one, the second year on day two and so on. If a 10-day vacation isn't feasible, consider going on a date every night for 10 nights in a row, celebrating specific memories on each night. Possibilities for your first date: the place of your first kiss or the locale you were in when you decided to marry.
  6. Reflection

  7. Create a time capsule to open on another anniversary, such as the 25th or 50th. Include friends or family members in this project if you want. Make a scrapbook together, including pictures, ticket stubs and dinner receipts from your dating and married years. Your friends and family members can include poems or short stories relating their favorite stories or memories of you as a married couple. Seal it and store it somewhere you will be able to easily find it when it's time to re-open it. Consider using a tin container to keep with the 10th anniversary theme.
