Good personal hygiene should always be an important part of everyone's daily life. It is especially important in order to fight harmful bacteria that can cause a variety of illnesses. Creating a regular hygiene routine makes this much easier to achieve. If you have the best possible personal hygiene, you will look better, feel better and promote your own good health. This will allow you to have more confidence in yourself when you are around others. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Bathe Daily

    • The most important step in having good personal hygiene is bathing or showering daily. This helps keep bacteria away from the body and can help fight the spread of germs. Your skin will be much healthier as well. Be sure to wash your face at least twice a day to remove all signs of makeup, dirt and oil that can cause skin to become irritated. Washing your hands several times a day is also important in helping prevent the spread of illnesses, such as colds, flu or viruses. Also, wash and condition your hair several times a week to be sure that it always looks healthy and clean.

    Brush & Floss Teeth

    • Generally, teeth should be brushed after every meal. However, with the busy work schedules that most people have, this is not always possible. Teeth must be brushed a minimum of twice a day. You will need to do this once in the morning before starting your day and once at night before going to bed. Be sure to floss each time after you brush as well. Using a germ-fighting mouthwash after flossing also freshens breath and helps keep teeth clean and healthy.

    Wear Antiperspirant or Deodorant

    • Having good personal hygiene not only means being clean, it also means smelling clean. It takes very little activity for the body to begin to sweat. This can cause embarrassing body odor and perspiration stains. Always apply an antiperspirant or deodorant daily after bathing to ensure you smell as clean as you are. Antiperspirants and deodorants come in a variety of appealing scents, or you might prefer an unscented brand that will still fight wetness and odor.

    Wear Clean Clothing

    • Clothing will also need to be changed daily as a positive step in good personal hygiene. Both outerwear and underwear should never be worn more than once before being washed. This not only helps you have a clean appearance, but it also is a way to avoid bacteria growth from wearing soiled clothing. A daily fresh change of clothes will make you look more appealing to others and feel better about yourself.
