Natural Wrinkle Reducers
Wrinkles are some of the most visible signs of aging. Genetics is a determining factor for how many wrinkles a person will get as he ages, but environmental factors can have an even greater effect on how fast or slow a person ages. Factors that increase the appearance of wrinkles include smoking, sun exposure and diet. Natural wrinkle reducers can help skin maintain or regain some of its elasticity and appear smoother and healthier.

Change Lifestyle
-
The first step to reduce wrinkles is a lifestyle change. Smokers should stop smoking, use sunblock with a moisturizer and wear protective clothing before going outdoors. Making these changes reduces the appearance of new lines and wrinkles and lessens the appearance of existing wrinkles. Make sure to drink enough water to keep skin hydrated and plump, not dry and dull. These lifestyle changes will also improve the inside of the body as well.
Eat Antioxidant-Rich Foods
-
"Nature's Medicines," from Rodale Books, says that when skin cells are damaged, they emit free radicals. These free radicals damage other cells within the body. Foods with antioxidants such as vitamins A, C and E, and beta-carotene fight skin damage. Vitamins A and E fight free radicals from causing skin damage. Vitamin C helps connective-tissue development and collagen production in the skin. When the body has enough collagen, the skin looks firmer and fewer wrinkles appear. Foods containing these natural wrinkle reducers include fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, blackberries, citrus fruit, broccoli and red bell peppers. "Nature's Medicines" says to take an extra 500 milligrams of vitamin C to help rebuild the skin's structure.
Consume Fatty Acids
-
The skin needs fatty acids to reduce wrinkles naturally; these nutrients are obtained through diet because the body does not manufacture them. Foods containing fatty acids include eggs, nuts, low-fat milk, flax seeds and fish such as salmon and tuna. "Nature's Medicines" says people can supplement their diet by taking four evening primrose capsules or two tablespoons of flax seed oil. The book says it takes several months to see visible results.
Food on Face
-
Use food on the face as a natural wrinkle reducer. Puree apples with the skin on and blend in a tablespoon of milk. Apply paste to neck and face, massaging area with prominent wrinkles. Rinse off the mask when it dries. Honey is another natural wrinkle reducer. Mix two tablespoons of honey in juice from an orange. Spread on face and neck and let set for 20 minutes. Use cotton wool dipped in milk to remove mask. The honey-orange juice mask can be done nightly.
