- Be sure the fryer is clean before using it (see Section 3). Place the fryer on a heat-resistant surface. Open the lid and remove the frying basket. Pour clean cooking oil, such as vegetable or peanut, into the oil reservoir until it reaches the "maximum" mark, about six cups. Place the basket back into the fryer and lower the lid. Plug in the fryer.
- Turn power switch to the "on" position. Adjust the temperature to the desired heat setting and a red power indicator light will turn on. The light will go out when the fryer has reached the desired temperature. Open the lid and pull up the frying basket. Place the food to be fried into the basket carefully to avoid injury. Lower the basket slowly into the oil and lower the lid. Cook according to recipe directions. When the food is finished, pull out the basket and turn it upside down onto a surface covered in paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Unplug the fryer and allow it to cool. Remove the frying basket and wash in soapy, hot water. Rinse thoroughly and allow the basket to dry. Wipe the exterior and interior surface of the fryer with a warm, soapy cloth that is damp, not dripping. Dry with a towel and replace the basket before storing.
