There are many things that can cause stretch marks. You might have stretch marks after pregnancy, gaining or losing weight or even from lack of moisture in the air. Stretch marks are not harmful, but they are not necessarily the most pleasant for people to look at. It can be very frustrating to lose weight, but have old stretch marks remain. Stretch marks are formed when the top layer of skin stretched too far and tears.

Cocoa Butter and Stretch Mark Prevention

  1. Cocoa butter has been used for many years to treat and prevent stretch marks. It is effective because it penetrates the top layer of the skin all the way down to the second layer. The ingredients in cocoa butter repair the skin, and it is natural and safe for use. Cocoa butter also is efficient in helping with skin discoloration, which occurs with stretch marks. Cocoa butter lotion is fairly inexpensive and easily accessible.
  2. Vitamin B and Stretch Mark Prevention

  3. Vitamin B Complex is essential for healthy skin. Vitamin B should be consumed three times a day in supplement form (50 mg each time) for a total of 150 mg. Other vitamins to take include vitamin A (25,000 IU, to be avoided during pregnancy), vitamin E (400 IU), vitamin C (1,000 mg), silica (1,000 mg) and zinc (15 mg).
  4. Exercise

  5. Exercising on a regular basis in conjunction with cocoa butter and/or vitamin B will help reduce stretch marks, because working out improves circulation to all parts of the body, including your skin. If you sweat while working out, you're getting rid of toxins through your pores. Getting rid of toxins helps to stimulate the skin's natural renewal process.
