- Fall is filled with color but it is not as pastel or bright as spring. Spring colors are pink, yellow, purple and blue. Fall colors are more earth-based tones. These colors are dark yellow; brown; and tones of red, green and orange. Fall colors mixed in a bride's bouquet make a striking contrast with a bride's white dress.
- Some flowers that are filled with the colors of fall that are appropriate for weddings include lilies, calla lilies, dahlias, daffodils, roses, tulips and daisies. Marigolds and chocolate cosmos can add flair to a wedding bouquet. Create a bouquet using peach calla lilies, interspersed with orange roses, yellow daffodils and a few chocolate cosmos. Wrap the bouquet with a wide ribbon of brown or orange to emphasize the fall color scheme.
- Bridesmaids may hold wedding bouquets that are miniature versions of the bride's or they may be different from the bride's. The same color scheme should be used as in the bride's wedding bouquet but different flowers can be used and other items can be added to bring out fall color. Orange lilies, golden yellow marigolds and small sunflowers mixed with fall colors from the leaves of ferns, oak, maple or birch is an idea for a bridesmaid's wedding bouquet using fall colors.
- The role of the flower girl is to walk down the aisle spreading the flower petals while looking cute and adorable. Since the flower girl often carries a basket filled with flower petals, give the wedding basket a fall color scheme by adding mini-wedding bouquets using fall colors to the handle of the basket and tying them with harmonious colored ribbon. The flower girl could also carry a bouquet of sunflowers and pull the petals of the flowers off as she walks up the aisle, sprinkling the colors of fall.
