A baseball party is a popular party theme for children and adults of all ages. A baseball party theme can be used to celebrate birthday parties, graduations, baseball playoff games or the end of a Little League season. You will want to incorporate baseball-themed decor, games and food into your party plan.

    Baseball Invitations

  1. Start out with a baseball-themed party invitation. You can make inexpensive invitations by cutting construction paper into the shape of a baseball, a baseball bat or a baseball mit. Print your party information out on your computer and glue it to the paper cutout.

For a baseball birthday or graduation party, an inexpensive invitation can be made by taking a picture of the honoree wearing a baseball cap or a baseball uniform. Order invitations using the baseball picture from an online photo store or print the pictures out yourself and include them with your homemade invitation.
  2. Baseball Decorations

  3. Decorate the party room with the team colors of your family's favorite baseball team. Use crepe paper to make streamers in the appropriate colors and order balloons in the team's color scheme. Purchase some baseball pennants, team jerseys and other team décor from a sporting goods store. You can find a complete listing of all of the Major League baseball team's colors and logos on MLB.com.
  4. Baseball Food

Serve ballpark-style food like popcorn, pizza, hot dogs, french fries, soft pretzels and peanuts. Make a concessions-stand sign that displays all of the available food options. If you have extra help during the party, have someone walk around like a peanut vendor to hand out snacks to the guests. To make a peanut vendor box, take the cardboard bottom from a case of water. Cut a hole in each side of the box and tie a strand of ribbon or rope through it. The box can then be hung around the "vendor's" neck.
  6. Baseball Drinks

Root beer floats are a popular baseball-themed drink. To make root beer floats, scoop vanilla ice cream into tall glasses and pour root beer over it. For an adult baseball party, serve cold beer just like at the ballpark.
  8. Baseball Cake

  9. A baseball-themed party cake is easy to make. Bake a regular round-shaped cake and spread white frosting on top. You can then make stitching on the baseball cake with red decorator's gel or cut-up red string licorice. This can also be done on a smaller scale with cupcakes.
  10. Baseball Games and Activities

  11. Baseball game

It is ideal to host a baseball-themed party outdoors. If you have the space for an outdoor party, organize a real baseball game for the guests to play. Set up bases and have enough mits, bats and balls available. Or purchase inexpensive baseball caps and let the party guests decorate them with felt stickies, glitter glue, gems and foam cutouts. All of these items can be purchased at craft supply stores. For older guests, a baseball trivia game game be played. You can award a prize to whoever gets the most correct answers. You can reference trivia at MLB.com and Baseball-Almanac.com.
  12. Baseball Music

Create a baseball themed music play list for your baseball party. Some suggested songs include are Jimmy Buffet's version of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," John Fogerty's "Centerfield" and "Baseball Party Music" by The Hit Crew. The soundtrack to the Ken Burns film "Baseball" also includes several classic versions of baseball-themed songs.
  14. Baseball Goody Bags

  15. You can customize goody bags for a children's baseball party. Purchase popcorn bags from a party store and include baseball-themed items like Cracker Jacks, baseball whistles and packages of baseball cards. Another way to make the party favors is to fill new baseball caps with the favor items.
