Christian gift stores are very popular among Evangelical Christians. They often carry several books on spiritual issues and biblical themes. Understanding what Christian gift seekers are looking for can go a long way toward helping them find what they need, as well as providing an opportunity for growing a thriving business.

    Bibles

  1. Christians come to gift stores and book stores looking for Bibles. It is the most commonly sold book in the world. A gift store entrepreneur would take advantage of this fact to his or her own benefit. Purchasing many varieties of Bibles that meet the expectations of evangelicals for accuracy of translation and readability will provide a solid base and an immediate selling point of Christian gifts. Study Bibles are also frequently given to Christian high school students upon graduation.
  2. Music

  3. Evangelical Christians have gone a long way in developing their own genres of music that meet their spiritual expectations and needs. Having a wide variety of music that reaches into the generational and ethnic niches of the Christian community would behoove you. Worship music is a good base to build from because it is music that most Christians hold in common.
  4. Pastoring Materials

  5. Where there are Christians, there will be pastors. A good Christian pastor is looking for ways to educate him- or herself on all matters related to ministry. Particularly issues such as counseling and leadership strike near and dear to their hearts. Also, having good study materials on various books or topics in the Bible will help pastors supplement their own personal libraries.
  6. Devotional Material

  7. All Christians want to grow closer to God in their relationship with Him, but not all of them know how. Devotional books and materials can be a good way to meet this genuine need among Christians. Providing materials that teach young believers how to pray, read their Bibles, and interact with other believers can go a long way to help them on their Christian journey. Church leaders know this instinctively and are constantly on the look-out for materials that can serve this purpose for the people with whom they worship.
  8. Church Fathers

  9. It is difficult to find a topic more underappreciated in the Christian community than the study of the church fathers. For a Christian bookstore, this is simply a must. Once individuals begin reading the life stories and writings of these ancient men and women, they will be hooked and come back for more over and over again. The fathers are a well of knowledge that never runs dry.
