Treating your skin with a facial mask will bring out its natural healthy glow, and it is a great way to pamper yourself. You can make a homemade facial mask with all-natural ingredients for very little money and avoid the harsh chemicals present in some store-bought facials. Chances are you already have on hand the ingredients for a natural facial mask recipe.

    Oily Skin

  1. Oily skin requires special treatment and is often prone to acne and blemishes. Individuals with this type of skin will want their facial mask to remove excess oil and tighten their pores. Milk of Magnesia, beaten egg whites, and sliced cucumber or carrots are good choices; cover the face with one of these ingredients and leave them for 15 minutes, then rinse your skin thoroughly. To remove blackheads and lighten blotches, mix one beaten egg white with the juice from half a lemon. Leave this facial mask on for at least 15 minutes or for as long as 12 hours. Rinse with warm water. Mix a teaspoon of brewer's yeast, available at health food stores, into a small amount of plain yogurt and apply to the face, especially the oily areas, for a refreshing facial mask that will tighten the pores. Rinse with warm water after 20 minutes.
  2. Dry Skin

  3. Individuals with dry skin need a facial mask that will soothe and revitalize their skin with natural moisturizers. Mashed avocado, raw egg yolk, sour cream, coconut oil and olive oil can all be applied as a facial mask, either individually or combined, as desired. Spread the mask on the face and leave it for at least 15 minutes. Rinse with cool water. For a soothing and moisturizing facial mask with a pleasant fragrance, mix one beaten egg yolk with 1 tbsp. of yogurt, 1 tbsp. of honey, and a teaspoon of almond oil. Ripe, mashed banana can help to minimize the appearance of wrinkles. Spread creamy mashed banana on the skin; rinse after 20 minutes.
  4. All Types

  5. Honey is one of the best natural substances to use for a facial mask, and it gives great results for all skin types. Apply a warm cloth to the face and then apply honey evenly to the face and neck. After 30 minutes, rinse the honey off with warm water, and then rinse again with cool water to close the pores. Grapes and strawberries are also good for your skin---simply slice the fruit in half and rub the exposed flesh over your skin. Rinse with cool water.
