Barbie Fairytopia is a Barbie movie with its own range of Barbie products, including fairy wings and wands for girls, and an interactive DVD with a matching Fairytopia Barbie doll. For your little girl's birthday party, consider creating a magical Fairytopia theme. From the cake to the decorations and games, find out how to add a little fairy magic to your child's next birthday.

    Cake and Food

  1. A Fairtytopia birthday cake is the obvious choice for the cake at your party, but if the local bakery or grocery store doesn't offer one, a Fairytopia cake topper can be ordered online and placed on any homemade or store-bought cake. For smaller children, cupcakes might be preferable. These cupcakes can be decorated with pink or purple icing, and plastic rings in the shape of anything from fairies to colored flowers can be added to the top. Brightly colored ice cream, such as Neapolitan, will match the cake or cupcakes. Add Fairytopia paper plates and napkins, available in party stores and online, or buy cheaper plates and napkins in purple and pink. Matching paper cup sets can be purchased as well.
  2. Decorations

  3. Party decorations can match the theme of the food and plates. Fairytopia balloons and pictures can be used, but pink and purple streamers will match just as well. Set up any Fairytopia Barbies that kids may have as part of the decorations. A cheap costume or party store will have little girls' fairy wings and magic wands. Buy a set for the birthday girl, or a pair for all the girls at the party if it's affordable. They'll feel like fairy princesses. Matching pink or purple balloons can be tied together and hung by the door or on the back of the birthday girl's chair. Consider buying small treat bags with prizes such as pencils and bubbles.
  4. Games

  5. Any traditional birthday game can be designed with a Fairytopia theme. Print a large colored drawing of a fairy and a pair of wings. This turns the classic game pin the tail on the donkey into a creative new fairy version of pin the wings on the fairy. Fill a jar with pink and purple jellybeans, or regular jellybeans and candy, and have children guess how many beans are in the jar. The winner gets a plastic tiara, which can be found at dollar stores or in the toy aisle of most toy or grocery stores. The children can then eat the candy. Hopscotch can be changed into fairy flying hopscotch, where each child has a cheap pair of costume wings to wear as they "fly" by jumping across the squares. Invite children to bring their Barbies, or Fairytopia Barbies if they have them, and let them have fun playing together.
