eBay is an online auction site that offers a little bit of everything from cars to vintage lunch boxes. You can not only buy a camera from 1946 but also sell items from your attic. There are several ways to make money eBay---here's how.

Set Up a Seller's Account on eBay Before Selling

  1. Before you start selling items on eBay, you must set up a "Seller's Account" within your eBay account. This account will allow you to sell items, accept payments through PayPal (the payment site for eBay) and ship items easily through the United Postal Service and other shippers. The Seller's Account will also resolve any problems you may encounter with buyers.
  2. Setup an Online Store and Sell Items

  3. One way to make money on eBay is to sell your items through an "eBay Online Store." Setting up the store takes a few minutes You can post pictures of your items, descriptions, set a selling price and set the shipping price for your item. The online store will even keep track of your sales. There is also an option for creating a sales flyer for the items you are selling.
  4. Sell Your Clothes, Shoes and Other Accessories

  5. Selling your old clothes, shoes and accessories is the second way to make money on eBay. You don't have to set up a store--all you need to do is take a photograph of the dress or suit you would like to sell, write a short description and then set a starting price for the auction or a "Buy It Now" price. The "Buy It Now" option is great if you have to sell the item at a certain price. Also, if a person buys the item at the "Buy It Now" price, the auction will end and you can get paid quicker.
  6. Buy Items Off eBay and Resell Them

  7. The third way to make money on eBay is to bid and buy items off the auction site and then turn around and resell the items. This method of making money can be risky because the item may or may not sell again. One tip---bundle items together and sell as group or lot.
  8. Sell Your Artwork, Crafts and Other Creative Projects

  9. Selling your artwork, crafts and other creative projects is another way to make money on eBay. Many artists use the auction site to get exposure for their work, sell their work and buy supplies. Research the price of other work on eBay and price yours accordingly. When taking pictures of your artwork or crafts, make sure they are clear and represent the entire item.
  10. Selling Toys, Trains & Other Items for Kids

  11. Selling your children's toys, trains and other items is another way to make money on eBay. The auction site is a perfect outlet for selling toys your children have outgrown. Make sure you clean the toys, repair any loose parts and write clear descriptions. Note---toys containing lead cannot be sold on eBay.
  12. Sell Your Car, Boat & Other Big Ticket Item

  13. Short on money or need to get rid of a second car or boat? Sell your car, boat, recreational vehicle or other motorized vehicle on the auction site. Take clear pictures of the item and then look up the value to get an idea on pricing your big ticket item.
  14. Tips

  15. When writing descriptions, make sure they are clear and state the truth about your items.

Take clear photographs of your items.

Set the selling price at a fair value.

Ship items on time and use a respectable carrier.
