A graduation open house invitation should reflect who the student is and where their life is taking them post-graduation. There are many ways to make the invitation personalized to the student and it should be a true tribute to the graduate. Consider using themes from the student's high school career, either awards or recognitions, or focusing on what the graduate will be doing in college, either a chosen college major or a trip abroad.

    Using High School Senior Pictures

Every high school senior has a photo shoot so what better pictures to use? Choose a compilation of several of the graduate's favorite photos or use one photo that best represents your student. The picture can help communicate the theme of the party or just give guests a sense of what the graduate is like. Such pertinent information as place and time of the party can be printed below the photo or on the inside of a folded card. Other information about where the student is going to college or if guests are invited to the ceremony can also be included in the information section.
  2. College themed invitation

Look forward to the future by sending an invitation highlighting the student's future. Use photos of the graduate's choice of colleges or the school's logo to create the graduation open house invitation. If the student is going to the same college as other family members, consider using photos of them in their college garb to make the invitation even more personalized. To continue the theme, use the college logo throughout the party, such as on the cake, paperware and banners. Detail party information on the invitation and consider including information about what the graduate may need for his or her dorm room, or point guests to a graduation registry.
  4. Focusing on the past

  5. Collage grad invite.

A sentimental invitation can also make for a great graduation open house invitation. Use such images as baby photos, photos with friends or photos playing sports. Create a collage of the graduate's past to reflect on who the student has become. The collage can be used as the front of the invitation and can have the information for the party incorporated or listed on the inside of the card. You can also make a flier on an 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of paper so that you can use more photos of the student.
