Creating crafts is fun for both adults and children. There are some crafts that may be a bit hard for children to make, however. It is important to give them crafts at which they can excel as well as give them an outlet for expressing themselves. For example, you may have 10 children draw a fish, but I bet no two of them are alike. Making crafts can give children a sense of accomplishment, not to mention they're a lot of fun to do.

  1. Take an empty toilet paper roll and glue strips of tissue paper on it. Use different colored strips and different size pieces of tissue paper for a unique look. Turn your toilet paper roll so that it stands upright. Fill the inside of the toilet paper roll with green tissue paper. Stick a twig that has some small branches on it in the middle of the green tissue paper. Start gluing items to your twig's branches. Whatever you have on hand that represents Easter or spring is great. You can glue on pompoms to represent Easter eggs or butterflies to represent spring. When everything dries you can use it as a centerpiece on your dining room table.
  2. Ladybug Magnet

  3. Cut out a circle from a piece of red felt. Don't make it any larger than 2 inches from one side to the other. Cut a small piece of black felt for the top of the ladybug. It should be round across the top to match the top of the ladybug, but should have a flat bottom. Glue it in place. Now cut a small black strip to go down the middle of the ladybug's back. Glue it in place. Finish using the felt by cutting several tiny circles and gluing them on both sides of the ladybug's back. Cut a pipe cleaner in half and put half of it away. Take the remaining half and cut it in half again. These are the antennae. Glue them to the front of the ladybug's head. Flip your ladybug over and add a magnet strip to the center of the ladybug. When the glue dries it is ready for your refrigerator.
  4. Happy Face Ornaments

  5. Combine 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup of salt and 3/4 cup of hot water in a bowl. Roll out this dough to be 1/2-inch think. Cut out circles from the dough by turning a glass upside down and pressing it over the dough. Use a straw to cut out a hole at the top to put ribbon through later for hanging. Place the dough circles on a microwave-safe plate and microwave them for 3 minutes. If they aren't done, add one minute at a time until they are. Let them cool and then paint them yellow. Use other colored paints to make eyes and a mouth. Give your happy face rosy cheeks or long eyelashes. Personalizing your happy face is a good idea. When the paint dries, thread a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie it together in a knot. Hang from a Christmas tree or anywhere you have a nail or hook.
