- Use a cowboy boot as the centerpiece. Fill an old boot with flowers so it serves as a vase. It's fun, festive and will be sure to spark conversation as all good centerpiece displays do. It also might be relatively inexpensive.
- Have your ring bearer carry something other than a pillow with the rings on it, such as a horseshoe with the rings tied on. It's easy to do; just find an old horseshoe, preferably one that's not too heavy for the little boy to carry and clean it up. Decorate with a bow if you wish and tie the rings on with a string.
- Create a wanted poster for your wedding invitation. You can make these yourself on the computer by finding an old wanted poster and erasing all the information then filling it in with your wedding details. Insert a photo of yourselves in the photo box and you'll look like a regular pair of escapees running away from the law. It's easy to make, inexpensive and sets the tone.
- Get little tan drawstring bags and paint the words "Feed bag" on it. On the back side stamp or paint a message to your guests or the date of the wedding and your names with the message "Thank you." Fill these feed bags with candy, mints, or other small items and leave on the tables as your favors.
- Have your wedding party dance or the first dance everyone gets up for be a line dance. It's exciting, something everyone can follow along to do and will make for some wonderful memories. Invite everyone out on the dance floor to kick up their heels and join the shuffle.
- Have your grand departure from the reception as a couple be on horseback. Or if the ceremony and reception are being held at two different venues leave the ceremony on horseback and make your grand entrance to the reception on the horses. It's unique and will make for some great photos.
