Eggs and flaxseed oil work well to help hair grow. Egg yolks contain proteins and nutrients that make hair thick, healthy and shiny. Flaxseed oil encourages hair growth by increasing circulation in the scalp.
Create a hair mask by separating the yolk of 1 egg and mixing it with 1 tbsp. of flaxseed oil. Beat the ingredients together, and apply the mixture to damp hair. Massage thoroughly into the scalp and distribute evenly throughout the entire length of hair. Cover the hair with a shower cap and leave in for 10 minutes. This allows the pores in the scalp to open and absorb the proteins and vitamins from the yolk and the oil.
Rinse the mask out of the hair with cool water before shampooing as usual. Hot water will cook the egg in the hair and make it difficult to remove. -
Without a healthy scalp, healthy hair cannot grow. Olive oil and vitamin E work together to make a night treatment that repairs the scalp for rapid and strong growth. Olive oil clarifies and moisturizes the scalp and is a common natural treatment for dandruff. Vitamin E oil repairs damaged hair follicles that prohibit new growth.
To make this nourishing hair oil, combine 1 tsp. pure vitamin E oil and 1 tbsp. olive oil. Before bed, massage the oil into the scalp with your fingertips. Cover the head with a shower cap and wash your hair as usual in the morning. -
Hair follicles that have become clogged with dead skin cells and bacteria restrict healthy hair growth. Hair becomes brittle or does not grow at all. Janice Cox, author of "Natural Beauty at Home," suggests using apple cider vinegar as a hair rinse to remove dead skin cells and flakes.
Make an apple cider vinegar hair rinse by diluting 1 cup apple cider vinegar in 1 cup water. While in the shower, before washing the hair, pour the rinse over the head and massage it into the scalp for 2 to 3 minutes. When time is up, wash your hair as usual.
Apple cider vinegar is the best vinegar to use. It has not been distilled and contains many more nutrients that have been steamed out of other vinegars.
