The easiest way to exercise is to do it every day, so it becomes part of your routine. You don't have to psych yourself up to get yourself prepared. You just do it at the same time every day. Many experts recommend alternating strength workouts with cardiovascular work.

    Bench Press

  1. The bench press is one of the best weightlifting exercises to build upper-body strength. Do this with a partner for spotting. Take the weight and hold it at shoulder level. Press it up above your shoulders until your elbows are locked into position. Return the weight to its original position and press it up at least 15 more times.
  2. Two-mile Run

  3. On the day after you lift weights, run for distance. Running 2 miles is great for your heart, lungs, your legs and and core muscles. Drink water before you run and it is best to have it available after you finish, especially if you are running in the hot summer months. Run for endurance and conditioning and try to finish your run with a quick sprint during the last 440 yards.
  4. Push-ups and Sit-ups

  5. Calistenics like push-ups and sit-ups may be somewhat old-fashioned, but they are still effective. Push-ups builds your arms, shoulders, hands and chest muscles. Sit-ups work best when you turn them into crunches. Bend your knees up as you are lying on your back. With your hands behind your head, lift your neck about 12 to 14 inches. Return to your original position. Do 20 to 25 push-ups and at least 30 sit-ups.
