Being single can be either fun or frustrating depending on your point of view. For those who do not wish to be single and spend all their time hoping to meet someone, it can be extremely disheartening. However, for those who want to make the most out of their single years, there are loads of different adventures and activities that await them. Whether you are simply looking to meet others in the same stage of life or looking for an adventure with other solo individuals, there are plenty of ways to be involved as a single person.

    Dating

  1. Many single people are single and searching for Mr. or Ms. Right. If you are in this position, there are number of things you can do to socialize with other singles. There are mixers you can go to in order to meet other singles. You could go speed dating, where you will have the opportunity to rapidly meet lots of other singles in a short and organized amount of time. There are also online dating sites such as Eharmony.com and Match.com that are geared to singles.
  2. Social

  3. There are a variety of ways to socialize as a single person. Many churches have singles groups that are categorized by ages so that people can meet and socialize with others their own age. There are also activities you could organize yourself as a single person. For instance, you could host a game night at your home, plan a dinner and a movie outing for all your single friends, host a potluck or progressive dinner, participate in a service project or take part in a volunteer opportunity in your community.
  4. Travel

  5. Being single should not stop you from traveling anywhere you want to go whether locally or abroad. No matter how adventurous you may or may not be, there are many opportunities to travel as a single individual. You could go on an adventure tour where you will have a guide and be grouped with other singles, or you could visit a singles-only resort or go on a cruise for singles. If you are mission minded, you could talk to a local church about a mission trip for single adults.
  6. Athletics

  7. With the freedom of being single can come many opportunities for extra-curricular activities. Join a local sports team with other singles, such as a softball or volleyball team. Connect with other singles at your gym and play pick-up games of basketball, racketball or tennis. Take a class in martial arts, shadow boxing or dance.
