The scalp must be healthy in order for hair to grow. Improper care and poor diet can lead to clogged hair follicles that cause bacteria buildup and flakes. Apple cider vinegar is an effective way to solve this problem.
Apple cider vinegar contains alpha hydroxy acids that remove dead skin cells that are clogging hair follicles and prohibiting growth. It will also balance the scalp's pH levels.
Mix 1 cup of apple cider vinegar with 1 1/2 cups of water and stir. After washing the hair, pour apple cider vinegar water over the head and massage into the scalp for 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water and condition as usual. -
Vitamin and mineral deficiencies are directly related to hair loss. Certain nutrients are essential for hair growth and preservation. Vitamins that are important for hair growth are vitamin A, E and all of the B vitamins. B vitamins are critical for hair growth, vitamin A regulates sebum production for hydrated hair and vitamin E repairs damaged hair follicles.
Minerals needed for healthy hair growth are calcium, iodine, silica, zinc and iron.
Deficiencies lead to brittle, weak hair and can eventually lead to baldness. Supplementing or incorporating these minerals into your diet will encourage new hair growth. -
The scalp does not get as much blood flow and circulation as the rest of the body. Because the scalp is the highest point of the body, blood flows in one direction most of the time. In addition to this, there is no muscle directly underneath the scalp, so stimulation is necessary.
Circulation and blood flow aid in hair growth by stimulating hair follicles. To encourage blood flow and circulation, lay back on a slant bench for 5 minutes a day to reverse the flow of blood. If you do not have a slant bench, hang your head over the side of the bed or couch.
Massage is also extremely helpful in hair growth and preservation. Massage the scalp in circular motions using your fingertips for 5 minutes everyday. This stimulates hair follicles and motivates new hair to grow.
