Infant eczema is common but can be devastating for a parent who wants her baby to be perfect and feel no pain. Eczema is irritating, especially for an infant who will want to itch and scratch himself and is likely to be quite fussy. Therefore, you want a treatment that works fast and is natural so your infant can recover without the use of potentially harmful topical chemicals and steroid treatments. There are natural ways to treat infant eczema and have your little one looking and feeling better in no time.

    Humidifier

  1. Place a humidifier in the infant's room and run it at night as she sleeps. The cool moisture produced will help stop the flat, dry air from drying out and further triggering the eczema. It acts as a natural moisturizer that is safe enough to use daily and will also help keep the baby's sinuses clear and healthy at the same time.
  2. Apply Aloe Vera

  3. Aloe vera is an excellent moisturizer. Apply a layer of aloe vera to the skin twice a day. It will help hydrate the affected areas and allow them to heal. Aloe vera is a soothing and calming agent which will take away the urge to itch or scratch.
  4. Oatmeal Baths

  5. Give the baby a bath in an oatmeal mixture every other day and keep it short (under 10 minutes). Also make sure you dry the baby immediately with a soft towel. Don't rub too quickly or roughly it will irritate the eczema and make the condition worse. Be sure to use lukewarm water. Hot or cold water will dry out the skin more.
  6. Mittens

  7. Put mitten on the infant to prevent him from scratching himself and further irritating the eczema. The lack of scratching and contact will let the moisturizers soak in and heal the condition.
  8. Moisturize

  9. Moisturize the infant's skin several times a day. In addition to aloe vera, use a lotion or moisturizer specifically formulated for a baby or young one's skin. Apply immediately after bathing and drying as well as before bedtime, in the morning and after a morning nap and an afternoon nap.
