Making birthday party invitations is a way to share family fun while preparing for a birthday party. Sometimes kids can get caught up in the receiving end of a birthday, and making handmade invitations allows them to focus some time and attention on their guests. Plus, homemade invitations are just so cute.

    Character Heads

  1. Some cartoon characters have heads that are quite geometric and easy to duplicate. Elmo, for example, is a circle. SpongeBob is squarish. If you're planning a themed birthday party, keep your eyes open for an easy shape to duplicate for your invitations, then start snipping. Print the party details on your desktop printer & paste them inside.
  2. Surprise Your Guests

  3. You can surprise guests by sending your luau party invitation in a bottle. Roll it up and stick it in a recycled water bottle. The postal service will mail it as long as it has a label. You can tell guests you're shipwrecked and see who comes to your rescue.
  4. Fancy Homemade Invitations

  5. Maybe you you want upscale or classy party invitations. Head to your scrapbooking store or fine paper shop. They have all the card stock, vellum and little ribbons you could ever want. They even have design books to help you figure out how you want them to look. To top it off, they usually have tools you can use while you're there, such as a die cutter and fancy-edged scissors.
