Getting a present for the father in your life is no easy task. Men are notoriously more difficult to shop for because their interests are so specific and preferences so personal. However, even if you don't know what the dad in your life likes, some ideas work for most everyone.

    Electronics

  1. Flat-screen televisions are more affordable than ever before, some selling for under $200. Other high-tech gifts: the latest PDA, a DVD player capable of Internet downloads, a laptop with an accompanying all-in-one photo printer or a new digital camera.
  2. Clothing

  3. If you need inspiration, just look in Dad's closet. Besides seeing the styles he likes, note what he needs more of: knit shirts, jeans, belts or T-shirts, for example. Stay away from undergarments and suits as these are items men prefer to purchase themselves.
  4. Music

  5. You can't go wrong with music-related gifts, but let Dad make the choice. For example, get him an iPod or similar MP3 player with an accompanying gift card to download his favorite songs. You can even take it a step further and purchase a car adapter for the iPod.
