If you are looking for some part-time work that you can do from home, there are many jobs opportunities available. Consider what sort of jobs interest you, or what types of jobs your home is suited to and the type equipment you have.

    Caregiver

  1. Friends or even family may be looking for someone reliable to sit with their children for a few hours a day or several days a week. If you enjoy children, let your friends and family know you would be interested in watching the children several hours per week. Offer a reasonable rate that will benefit everyone.
Some people may have elderly parents living with them. The elderly parent may only need someone to help them remember to take medicine or to just keep them company. Offer to have the elderly parent spend a few hours at your home, as a sort of "adopt a parent" type job.
If the adult children of the elderly parent work, they may be relieved to find someone to spend time with their parent and will be happy to pay a reasonable amount. The elderly parent may be glad to have afternoon company as well, instead of being in a house by herself all day.
Animal lovers can offer their services as pet sitters. You will have to decide if your house or apartment is suited for any of these part-time jobs you can do from home. Apartment dwellers need to check with management to be sure these type of in-home services are allowed. Some landlords have rules against in-home businesses or having pets in the home.
  2. Sewing and Crafting

  3. If you sew or make any crafts, place an ad in the newspaper offering your services. Many people are finding it more economical to repair things they already own, instead of replacing clothing when it tears or rips. These same people may not have the skills to mend or alter their clothing but would pay someone to do it for them, instead of paying for a new item.
Craft items, either handcrafts or sewn items, such as pillows and blankets, can be advertised in newspapers and flyers. If you have a specific craft that you do, create flyers and place them on store bulletins. Advertise that you are taking orders for certain colors or styles of the item you make. Make several crafts that can be readily sold, as some people want things in a hurry.
  4. Build an Internet Business

  5. Computer-savvy people know that the Internet offers a wealth of work-at-home opportunities, depending on a particular talent. Finding a reliable company to work part-time from home with will require a lot of research on your part. Begin your search by networking in "work from home" forums. Other people searching for work will gladly point you to good companies, and they will also tell you about offers that are scams.
If you enjoy writing, there are many reputable writing sites, such as this one, that will pay you for your work. Some, of course, will pay better than others. Some will pay you an upfront amount, while others will offer you revenue money (money paid when someone reads your article).
Sign up for several survey to get paid to read email sites. You have the potential of making an income from these places in your spare time. Several sites, such as Inbox Dollars or Send Earnings, pays a small amount when you click on an email they send you. You will not get rich, but you can earn a small supplement to other work-at-home jobs you do.
Build your own website and sell something you have an interest in. Combine your love of sewing or crafting by offering your items for sale on your website. People are searching the web for items to purchase as gifts and home decor, instead of driving many miles to find what they want.
Yard sales and resale shops are great sources to purchase old dolls. Clean up these old dolls, redress them (sewing skills are great here, too) and offer them for sale on your website. If the doll is an old favorite, such as a Chatty Cathy, Barbie, or Cabbage Patch, it would be wise to research the doll and price your doll accordingly.
