Once marijuana is consumed, by either smoking or ingesting, residue from the plant begins to build-up within the cells of the body. Cannaboids are the chemical compounds that are found within cannabis, or marijuana. Most cannaboids are fat-soluble, thus when marijuana is consumed, the cannaboids attach themselves to the fat cells within the body. Detoxifying from marijuana can be done from home because there are no physical addicting compounds within cannabis, unlike tobacco, alcohol and caffeine. Complete detoxification may take up to a month, or longer depending on the history of cannabis usage.

    Cranberry Juice and Water

  1. Cranberry juice has been used to treat urinary tract infections due to its cleansing properties. As the cranberry juice travels the system, its compounds help flush out the digestive and lymphatic system. To rid fat-soluble toxins, such as those found within marijuana, daily consumption of cranberry juice and water will speed the detoxifying process.

    Mix one cup of unsweetened cranberry juice with four cups of distilled water. Drink this mixture twice per day. Do not drink the juice quickly, but rather sip it throughout the day. Further increase the detoxifying effects by drinking at least ten eight-ounce glasses of water per day. Repeat this process for three weeks to completely rid cannaboids from the body.

  3. Raising the heart rate through aerobic exercises cause the body to sweat and release toxins that have built up over a period of time. Daily cardiovascular exercise is an integral part in the marijuana detox process. Always consult a physician prior to beginning any physical activity, especially when performing daily cardiovascular activities.

    Perform some type of aerobic activity, such as jogging, swimming, running on a treadmill or step-aerobics for thirty minutes to an hour five days per week. Drink at least ten eight-ounce glasses of water to replenish fluids and to help push toxins out of the body.
  4. Apple Cider Vinegar

  5. Since apple cider vinegar has strong properties that break down fat cells, it is an effective ingredient for marijuana detoxification. Apple cider vinegar works directly with cells to remove toxins, and with fat cells it depletes them of their contents. In this instance, apple cider vinegar helps to rid cannaboids from cells, in a timely manner.

    Add two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to eight ounces of water. Stir the mixture to ensure the water and vinegar have properly combined. Consume this drink four times per day for three weeks to rid the body of cannaboids and excess toxins. If the taste of apple cider vinegar is too strong, dilute by adding one-to-two tablespoons of natural agave nectar.
