- Make a treasure box with craft sticks, craft glue and small round dowels. Your craft sticks should be at least 6 inches long and all the same size to make this project. Begin by making a flat base for your treasure box by laying 12 craft sticks side by side and securing them together with one craft stick running perpendicular across the center and close to each end. You'll need to make two of these flat craft stick bases, one for the top and one for the bottom of your treasure box. Build up the sides of your box by stacking craft sticks like Lincoln logs. Glue one craft stick directly on top of two sides of your base that are facing each other. Stack and glue another craft stick on the remaining two sides that are adjacent to the first two. The ends of these sticks will be touching the first craft sticks, not the base. Continue to build your walls as high as you like by alternately stacking the craft sticks on two facing sides. You can glue four small, round dowels to the base as feet and one to the top as a handle for the lid of your treasure box.
- Paint craft sticks in a variety of colors to make a kaleidoscope picture frame. You can make the borders of your frame as wide as you like; just keep the sides even by using the same number of craft sticks on each one. Make the individual sides by laying the craft sticks facedown and gluing them together across the back with craft sticks that are cut to fit the width of your frame. You'll only need to glue two sticks across the back, one close to the top and one close to the bottom. Join the four sides together by stacking them in the corners and securing them with glue. You can decorate your craft stick picture frame with paint pens, rhinestones or other small trinkets.
- Create a colorful wall hanging with craft sticks wrapped with ribbons. Make a frame by joining four craft sticks together at the corners with glue. You can spray paint your craft sticks in a color that complements your ribbons or yarn after you make the frame. Very little of the frame will be seen when you complete the project, but the paint will give it a finishing touch. Cut strips of ribbon that will fit from one side of your frame to the other, plus 1 inch, so you can glue it to the back of the craft stick. You can create a pattern with different ribbons or make them all the same. Stretch each strip of ribbon across the span of the frame and glue the ends onto the back of the craft sticks.
