Which hair color will work with my skin?

Ah, that most daunting of decisions--what color should I dye my hair. A mistake could be serious, while a good choice could make a difference for the better when it comes to how you look. The biggest consideration, without a doubt, when it comes to dyeing one's hair is complexion. Which hair color, then, suits your complexion?

    Determine Your Complexion

  1. The first thing you need to do when it comes to deciding on a hair color to match your complexion is to determine what your complexion actually is. Do you sport a warm complexion, marked by blue or green eyes (and sometimes very light brown or hazel eyes, too), lighter skin, and blonde, red, or light brown hair? Or are you characterized by more of a cool complexion, with deep brown or black-brown eyes, dark brown skin, and black or dark brown hair? This is a crucial determination, since it will guide your choice of hair color.
  2. Warm Options

  3. For those with a warmer complexion, there are two hair colors to strictly avoid: white and jet-black. Instead, consider adding red highlights or going to a warm gold, a deep chocolate, a rich brown, or an auburn.
  4. Cool Options

  5. For those sporting a cool complexion, nothing dazzles like shiny raven-black. Ash brown and mink also can work extremely well. Even platinum blonde can be done, and done well. There are a few colors to avoid, though. Among them are red, yellow, bronze, and gold tones.
