- Gingham fabric can be used to make curtains, cover chairs and to trim kitchen towels. Gingham is the monochromatic checkerboard plaid pattern that's most popular in tablecloths. Calico is marked with tiny floral patterns; it usually has vibrant colors and is made from cotton.
- Roosters, cows, horses, ducks, geese and pigs are typical farm animals and are often seen in farmhouse decor. You may want to have duck items in the bathroom and rooster items in the kitchen.
- Antique farm instruments can be re-purposed for decorative purposes. A rusty old butter churn makes a nice centerpiece, especially if you add flowers. Antique kitchen tools can make an attractive arrangement if you hang them on the wall or display them in a curio.
