- First things first: Get rid of that bleach blond hair. While blond might be beautiful in summer, it just won't do for the fall. Getting rid of the blond in your hair will free your hair up to match far more easily with the fall colors around you---and, importantly, with your fall clothing.
- If you don't want to get rid of your gorgeous blond hair completely, consider lowlights. A few shades of amber gold for honey blonds--or perhaps some soft gold-beige--might be just the trick. For those with the more bleached-blond look, champagne lowlights might be all you need to allow your otherwise bright pale hair to match the darker fall tones. Other shade options include mink, sable and vanilla woven throughout your hair with a natural finish.
- Fall calls for the addition of chocolate lowlights for brunettes, or, depending on how dark your hair is, even shades of cinnamon. Copper reds would work too, as would a shade of burgundy. These lowlights have the potential to add real depth to your hair. Subtle golden highlights could work, too. Try darkening the under-layers of your hair---lightly!---to add additional depth.
- Of all hair colors, redheads have the most leeway when it comes to fall hair colors. Try adding cinnamon or russet brown shades to accentuate the red of your cheeks. Other shades of red, such as burgundy, copper, strawberry blond and cherry, are also viable options if you happen to be a little more adventurous. Auburn may also work to add a warmth and depth to your hair.
