For busy students, quick and easy hairstyles don't take a lot of time when getting ready for the day. Plus, they don't require a lot of upkeep when you're trying to get to class and worry about schoolwork. These easy styles for long hair shouldn't take more than 10 to 15 minutes to design.

    Long and Straight

  1. Long, straight hair requires little more than basic upkeep. In the morning, simply brush and comb through it. You can use a small amount of gel or mousse if you want additional control.

You can use small sections of hair to create additional style. Part your hair on one side. Pull these front sections back and use barrettes to secure them. You can also braid these sections and secure with barrettes.
  2. Curly Hairstyles

  3. Once you learn how to treat curly hair, styling can be quite simple. You may have to style it the night before if you don't have time to let it dry after a shampoo in the morning. After shampooing and conditioning curly hair, the best way to dry it is to let it air dry. If you need to speed up drying time, use low heat on a diffuser dryer. Diffused heat won't create the frizz that direct, high heat will.

Once curls are set, leave them alone. Do not comb or brush; that creates frizz. Let them cascade down your back or take a front section and pin in back if you want to keep hair out of your face.
  4. Braids Are Easy

  5. Styling braids is an easy way to keep your hair out of the way. Simply part your hair down the center and create two braids on either side. You can also create French braids on straight, wavy or curly hair.

Braid your hair the night before and unravel the braids in the morning for a wavy look--this works well for straight hair if you want to try something different without having to sleep in rollers, which can be uncomfortable.
  6. Ponytails Are Always In

  7. When you want to keep your hair out of your face, a quick and easy ponytail is one of the easiest styles. You can wear your ponytail low at the nape of your neck or you can fashion one high, near the crown of your head. Use colorful ponytail holders to keep your hair in place.
  8. Use Accessories

  9. With any of these styles, accessories can come into play. You can usually find hair accessories to match any outfit. Use headbands, clips, barrettes, scrunchies, elastics, hair sticks and pins to add some flair to your hairstyle. Not only do they add visual interest, but they also keep hair out of your face. This is important if you take part in sports or for certain classes where long hair can get in the way (like Lab).
