Rustic Headboard Ideas
Many times the headboard can be overlooked when planning a new décor for a bedroom.
Rustic decor is fast becoming one of the most popular of all interior design schemes. Country Lodge, Western and Cowboy Chic are all rustic country themes that take us back to yesteryear when times were simpler and life seemed sweeter. With bedrooms being the inner sanctuary in our homes, rustic décor furnishings are well suited to this area.

Rustic iron headboards come in many designs and can even be custom made for the buyer. They can range from simple iron posts to decorative monograms and can be decorated with leather inserts, deer and elk antlers and tanned animal hides.
The iron headboard can be an individual piece or it can be divided into two or more panels.
Furniture makers and blacksmiths work together to create some of the most magnificent headboards on the market today.

Willow branches can be bent and twisted in such an array of shapes and styles that the designs are only as limited as the imagination. Weaving together willow limbs of various lengths and thicknesses can create a headboard that is not only one of a kind but also a conversation piece that anyone would want to boast about and show to visitors.
Willow branches can be used alone to make an impressive headboard or can be designed in such a way as to allow for iron inserts or even stained glass inserts which would implement color and make the headboard more of a work of art.

Old doors make great headboards. Not only do they serve as the headboard but also, because of their height, they can be looked upon as wall art.
An old wooden door with glass panes opens up a world of designing ideas. Cutting an insert in the back of the door just below the glass panes and inserting a light which would shine through the glass would soften the look of the old wood and add instant appeal. For an even more impressive look, replace the plain glass panes with stained glass. Color and soft light would radiate throughout the room.
