Ideas for a 6 X 6 Scrapbook

Although most standard size scrapbooks are 12" x 12", "mini" scrapbooks, such as 6" x 6" ones with smaller photos, are also very popular. These make excellent photo gift books for family and friends or single-event memory books. They can be created in a few hours rather than the time it may take to complete a larger book that covers a period of time such as a year or longer.

Suggested Layouts

Try sketching possible layouts with a pencil on plain paper before cutting photographs (see illustration above). Gather photos, papers, and embellishments that may be used for each page of the 6" x 6" scrapbook. Rearrange the layout with the photos until you're satisfied with the design. Also, look through magazines and books for ideas that focus on scrapbooking and layouts that are available at libraries and bookstores.

Adding Accents

Enhance each page with a title, and add tags, sticky letters, and borders. Mount photos on contrasting card stock a little larger than the photo, for a frame. Embellishments can include tickets, notes, ribbons, handwritten comments, or typed comments that can be cut out and added to a page. Use rubber stamps with phrases or words in different lettering styles that complement the photos or subject matter.
